Testimonials
"Many golfers would know the name Butch Harmon, one-time coach of the legendary Tiger Woods. Some would also know the name Mitchell Spearman, who presents coaching segments on the television program, Golfing World. HOWEVER, unless you had previously been a participant at one of SCGS's coaching sessions, you would not know the name LISA NEWLING.
So what common denominator connects Lisa with these other teaching 'Gurus'? Simple, Lisa uses the exact same drills as they do. How do I know this? Because while watching programs featuring these two coaches, lo and behold, there they were, demonstrating and advocating the exact same drills Lisa had used with me. Sorry, I’m not going to tell you what drills they were. To find that out, you’ll have to book a lesson with Lisa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Other testimonials more than adequately promote Lisa’s personal qualities, diligence and attention to detail as part of her coaching role, so that’s all I’ll say on that. I will say how useful it is to have instant video feedback. To have the video emailed to me. To receive encouraging emails asking how my game is progressing. To have a written checklist to take back with me at the end of the session. Actually, I will make a comment about Lisa. She a great teacher, she also has a great sense of humour! Reason enough to book a lesson." John D | Merimbula NSW December 2014 "Hi Lisa
I would like to thank you for your help this morning. This afternoon I played 9 holes at Pambula / Merimbula and the huge improvements in my swing were obvious from the first tee. Drives went straight down the middle and I was able to successfully shape a couple of shots. So by the end of the afternoon my confidence was back and with a bit more practise to implement your suggestions, I will again be enjoying the game. Well done with your coaching." "Lisa has been totally committed to helping me improve my golfing skill set over the last three years. Through continued patience and genuine interest in me learning to play the game, and now improve my skills, Lisa has helped me reduce my handicap from a beginner's 45 to 31.
The difference I've found between Lisa and other teaching pros (and I have tried a few) is that Lisa works not to change your natural style, but to work with your style and ability level. My lessons have always been very positive and enjoyable, with the most benefit I've gained coming from the intensive on course sessions where Lisa can watch what I do on the course and then teach me the skills and course management to reduce my handicap and make me competitive. My belief in Lisa as a coach is such that I got on a plane and had coaching with Lisa for three intensive days; the benefits of which have already paid off, as I won my first competition in over six months, beating better and more experienced golfers." Debbie | Sydney NSW April 2014 "My wife was commiserating with a girlfriend that infrequent 40 minute lessons were not doing it for them. I suggested we all go to 'golf camp' and naturally got the job of organising it. Google provided quite a selection, but the one with the most appeal, paticularly for the ladies, was the Sapphire Coast Golf School, having two lady professionals. Eden and the far South Coast of New South Wales aren't real bad drawcards either.
So we all set off to Eden for two days at the Sapphire Coast Golf School, assisted in our accomodation choices by Loraine and Lisa. We all really enjoyed two fun days of tuition, including two afternoons of playing under the watchful eye and with quiet encouragement of Loraine and Lisa. An added bonus was a 'fun golf' lesson my five-year-old twins did with Lisa and her contagious enthusiasm. We all advanced markedly in our game, the clincher being my wife making a par on the 18th, her first par ever. One set of hardly used ladies clubs now not going to eBay and a calendar entry for next year at the SCGS — priceless. Thank you Lisa and Loraine." Neville | Albury NSW February 2010 |
"As a result of attending your seven clinics, I was able to break my 45 handicap and reduce my stroke count by 10.
While I do not always play to my new handicap, I know that all the strategies you gave me have helped my game immensely. I look forward to playing 18 hole golf comps with a renewed vigor and hope to continue reducing my handicap!!! The clinic came at a good time for me." Lorraine | Merimbula NSW October 2009 "When I first went for a lesson with Lisa, I had played one game of golf and could barely hit a ball. I still play socially, and thanks to the coaching Lisa has given me, I recently went a round in 20 over par.
Lisa is an excellent teacher. She is very knowledgeable, patient and explains things clearly. With regular lessons, she gradually helped me strengthen my game. Lisa is also very pleasant to work with. I enjoyed my lessons with her as much as I enjoy playing golf. I strongly recommend Lisa as a coach." Larry | Sydney NSW August 2007 "Lisa Newling is one of the most perspective golf instructors I've ever had. She pinpoints the solution every time. A wonderful help to my game."
